John O'Neal took his position as Addison's Fire Chief on May 2, 2011.  John, a native of Portsmouth, VA spent 16 years with the City of Portsmouth Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services beginning as an Auxiliary Firefighter in 1979 and rising to Battalion Chief when he retired in 2001.  John later worked for the City of Jacksonville, NC as Deputy Fire Chief, and spent six years as the Fire Chief for the City of Manassas Park, VA. 

Chief O'Neal earned undergraduate degrees from Tidewater Community College and the University of Maryland University College.  His Masters of Public Administration Degree was awarded by Troy State University. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program and holds the Chief Fire Officer designation.  Since 2004, he has served as a peer assessor for the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

David Jones joined the Addison Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic in March 1998. He was promoted to Driver in August 2000, Lieutenant in April 2003, Captain in December 2004, Battalion Chief in October 2011 and currently serves as Deputy Chief of the EMS and Training Division. Chief Jones oversees administration of all fire and emergency medical service training programs, Addison's CPR Program and coordinates training with the surrounding agencies. He is also a member of the Safety Committee.

Prior to coming to Addison, Chief Jones served as Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Frisco Fire Department. David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management from Texas State University and a Master of Science in Fire Safety. He is certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Licensed Paramedic. He holds certifications with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as an Instructor II, Master Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Master Firefighter, Driver/Operator, Arson Investigator, Incident Safety Officer, Fire Officer II and Field Examiner.  He is credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer by the Center of Public Safety Excellence.  In addition, David is a a graduate of the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy and a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy.

Michel Mitchell has been with the Town of Addison since 1984.  He started as the Town’s mail carrier and then moved to the position of Inventory Specialist.  It wasn’t until 1988 that he began his career with the Fire Department, working his way up from firefighter to his current position, Fire Prevention Captain.  He serves as the Town’s Fire Marshal and is dedicated to fire and life safety.  Michel is certified as a Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Arson Investigator, Emergency Medical Technician, and is a licensed Peace Officer.  He is a member of the North Texas Fire Investigators Association and National Fire Protection Association.  In his spare time Michel enjoys being with his family, and doing outdoor activities. 

Monica Hernandez joined the Addison Fire Department as the Department Assistant in December 2002.  She supports Fire Administration, Operations, Prevention and the EMS/Training Divisions. Monica came to the Town from Verizon where she was a Project Coordinator for the Corporate Voice Mail Team.  She also worked as a Staffing Administrator at Nortel Networks.  Monica earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Monica and her husband live in the Dallas area with their daughters and their dog.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and scrapbooking.
