The Dallas Entrepreneur Center has extended its reach to entrepreneurs in Addison.

The DEC has teamed up with the Addison Economic Development Department to create the Addison TreeHouse, which will provide similar resources to those provided by The DEC in its new location at the West End.

“The DEC’s role is to continue to support the larger entrepreneurial ecosystem of North Texas in different capacities,” said Trey Bowles, co-founder and CEO of The DEC. “We see this venture with Addison as the opportunity to put in place an entrepreneurial hub north of I-635.”

The new center will occupy 14,800 square feet on the second floor of 14681 Midway Road in Addison. It will feature a workspace to accommodate 120 people in open space, shared work tables, cubicles, six rooms, tabletop window seats and an event flex space. It will have a kitchen and break area, white boards and two lounges, one complete with a fireplace.

Tenants can rent designated offices, desks or co-working spaces or can pay a drop-in charge of $20 per day.

Startups will have support from the Small Business Development Center, which will provide on-site consulting services, and The DEC, which will provide assistance on an array of topics including business plans, feasibility studies and funding proposals.

“We envision the Addison TreeHouse becoming an important economic development asset for Addison,” said Orlando Campos, Addison’s director of Economic Development. “Supporting business startups is a major component of our economic development strategic plan. Our venture with The DEC will also help us attract talent to the community, and innovation that will help fuel our economic growth into the future.”
